You wouldn't wait to change your sheets...
Carpet cleaning Orlando recommends cleaning your carpets on quarterly intervals. Now we like to compare it to changing your sheets but hopefully you do that at least a few times a month, lol. Though your carpets and your sheets aren't much different. They are both fibers and the both need to be maintained properly or they can become dingy and for unwanted odors. No you don't have to clean your carpets once a week, but vacuuming once a week is very important and a professional cleaning every 3-6 months will maintain that fabulous look as when you first purchased your investment.

Does doing crunches help me lose the body fat there?
YES and NO! The common misconception of doing sit-ups to get rid of stubborn belly fat, or doing bicep curls to get rid of that loose skin that hangs under the arm are all WRONG! Now don't get me wrong, doing these things in correlation with proper diet and exercise will make changes in those areas. But if you think you can do sit-ups and go home and eat pizza and magically those belly rolls will disappear you are sadly mistaken!

Rest days for a healthy lifestyle
For some weight training is a lifestyle, lifting is a daily routine that is implemented in there life. This is a wonderful thing! BUT, don't over do it. Rest days are just as important as training days. Your muscles heal and grow when you are NOT working out, when you are lifting(strength training) that's when your muscles are being torn. During lifting your muscles literally tear, and when you rest they heal and GROW! So stick with it, the gym needs to be a lifestyle, but just like everything in life, in moderation, 3-5 times a week lifting is adequate enough, don't over do it. For more great tips visit Carpet Cleaning Orlando.

Trainer Tip of the Day
Trainer Tip of the Day:
Eat 5-6 "meals" a day. And by meals i don't mean you have to have pasta, vegetables and a chicken breast for every meal. An apple, a couple bananas, maybe a protein shake could be one of your "meals". Think of your metabolism(if you don't know what metabolism is and what it has to do with your body, check out bodybuilding.com) as a 500 degree fire in the fire place. If you put GOOD wood in the fire every so often the fire burns at its best potential. Though if you neglect the fire, dont put a log in it for hours on end, the fire will begin to die down and even go out. Your metabolism is the same way, keep feeding it every 2-3 hours with GOOD food and your metabolism will be firing at its best possible potential, neglect feeding or miss meals or do the 3 meals a day thing you have heard your whole life, your metabolism slows down which in turn your not burning calories, so even though it sounds counter productive to eat "more" you can see that it is actually better to keep the body fueled.
Hope this helps some of you out there, good luck, and feel free to ask any questions!

Healthy Carpet Cleaning for the Pro's
You've been pushing the wand for
years now, your back aches a little more every day, your feet are in more pain
than they were yesterday and you have put on a few pounds since last year.
Where do you go from here? It’s never too late to transform your body and make
fitness a part of your lifestyle. Introducing exercise and proper eating habits
into your life is a step in the right direction, whether your 18 or 81 it will
change who you are mentally and physically.
Let’s start with proper eating
habits. Most cleaners hit the drive thru religiously, and this is a big no-no.
Yes it’s fast and when you have 4 more jobs to go you might think it’s your
only option. But hold it right there, make your lunch each morning like your
mother used to for you back in grade school. Pack water not soda, and some
healthy meals and bring it with you each day, no more stopping by micky d’s and
grabbing a high fat content, outrageous amount of sodium(salt) and crazy
amounts of sugar meal, and start packing your lunch with fruits, veggies, and
healthy sandwiches. This will give you more energy throughout the day; you
won’t feel as sluggish on job 3 with 2 more to go. Try eating every 2-3 hours
for best energy output, without food, healthy food that is, your energy levels
are reduced, in turn making your wand feel heavier and your feet drag a little
more each job. The heavier of an individual you are, and I am referring to
extra unnecessary weight here, the harder pulling hoses pushing the wand and
climbing those two story homes is going to be. Eat healthy and reap the rewards
each and every day!
Now that we have a good idea of
what to put in our bodies, let’s discuss transforming that body into Arnold
shape. Right now you’re telling yourself that I sweat all day every day, I
clean 5 houses a day I don’t need no stinking exercise. WRONG! The body adapts
to its surroundings, and the same goes for pushing the wand. Sure in the
beginning your body is burning a ton of calories as you are cleaning Mrs. Jones
home, but after a while the body adapts to this, plateau and muscle memory
occur, which in turn the body adapts to the activities you are doing day in and
day out, so say goodbye to the high calorie burn. With lack of exercise there
are two common body types you will see in carpet cleaners. One being overweight
and in most cases obese, and the other is extremely thin, no muscle tone and
very weak. The overweight individuals have normal to slow metabolisms and with
the lack of proper exercise and eating, in turn, make them this way. In the
very skinny it’s usually do to extremely fast metabolisms, and the lack of
eating throughout the day. In either case both bad outcomes. Proper fitness addition to your lifestyle will
help with both of these common scenarios. A good rule of thumb is 3-4 days a
week in the gym lifting weights aka strength training. If you are on the
overweight side, you should add cardio to your regimen each day you lift, as
well as a total of 5 days a week. If you are on the boney side, you can leave
the cardio out in the beginning until you get to a proper weight for your age
and height.
Remember fitness is a lifestyle, in
the beginning it will be difficult to implement it into your daily routine, but
just like how you are persistent in making your business successful make your
body successful too. Just as you have
to eat each day to survive, you should also introduce fitness and healthy
eating. DON’T use the excuse you don’t have time. It’s the oldest excuse in the
book. Make time for yourself, make
time for your health, your body will love you for it as well as your family too,
as you will be around for a long time to come.
Good
luck out there and don’t get discouraged, remember this is a lifestyle change
not a one month fix. Stick with it, don’t step on the scale everyday and expect
miracles, as a matter of fact just don’t step on the scale each day at all! It
takes time, just like your cleaning business, it wasn’t successful overnight,
persistence is the key.

Sick of your carpets being wet for days on end?
You have probably been down the road before with a carpet cleaning company that comes in with uneducated individuals, sub standard equipment, and high pressure salesmen. Tile Cleaning Maintenance Tips
All floors need maintenance. You may have initially thought tile or vinyl floors were maintenance free, but now you know the truth.
The best way to remove dry soil from your floors…
One of your best investments may be a vacuum for your hard floors. Sweeping can scratch the floor surface. Plus, a broom never removes all the embedded dry soil. A good hard floor vacuum will efficiently remove more soil.
Use this trick for more effective mopping…
The biggest problem that contributes to an ugly floor is residue build-up. Do NOT overuse detergents on your floor. In fact, it may be best to use plain water with NO detergent every third time you clean. Adding more detergent will cause the floor to attract soil. NEVER use bleach. Avoid using vinegar or acidic cleaners as they degrade grout sealers. And for natural stone, vinegar will etch and ugly out the shiny appearance. Only use cleaners specifically made for tile or vinyl.
How often should you get professional maintenance?
Tile, stone, and vinyl floors require regular professional cleaning. To help it stay beautiful, consider professional cleaning every 1-2 years. To keep tile looking its best, have the grout sealed every 2-3 years. Call an Orlando carpet cleaning professional for all your flooring needs.

Neglecting your investment
Investing in carpet is a great idea. Orlando carpet cleaning can help keep that investment clean for 20+ years. Children and pets both prefer the feel of carpet on there feet over tile and wood floors. Carpet, while the "feel" is better is harder to maintain if not done properly. Shoes, non vacuuming and oils from the feel can be the demise of your investment. For proper upkeep check out our other blogs and information on our website. Call Like New Carpet Care today to keep your carpets looking "like new."

Over the counter stain remover
Our main focus at Like New Carpet Care is residential carpet cleaning. Though we do orlando carpet cleaning commercial work as well. It is amazing to see how many residential clients we currently have who've used over the counter carpet spotter in the past. Stuff you get at the hardware store and your local wal mart does exactly what it claims, and we find that this product will remove the spot that it was used on. Unfortunately, it's also been known to remove color from carpet. If that isn't your goal then I recommend finding another use for that bottle underneath the kitchen sink, perhaps it doubles as a good drain cleaner?
Most spots can be removed with a dampened towel and some elbow grease - remember, blotting is always better than scrubbing. For those harder-to-clean spots, a professional grade spotter works wonders. When you order a cleaning for your home, we at Like New Carpet Care will give you a FREE bottle of our custom spotter for you to keep and to use on those stubborn areas. Just follow the directions on the side of the bottle and most stains and spots will vanish.

Pet stains? UV light....
Have a pet at home?, most of us do. Orlando carpet cleaning specializes in proper pet odor removal. Though if you have a pet emergency you can always bring out a black light or UV light. You will be able to identify the area wear the accident has happened and clean it to your best potential. Just darken the room, bring out your UV flashlight and begin searching. You will notice these area will have a certain "glow" to them when the room is dark enough and you have passed over a pet accident. Clean this area as thorough as possible. If the smell still persists then the likelihood that the urine has gotten into the padding and the sub floor is rather great. This would be a good time to call Like New Carpet Care to let a professional handle the situation. Good Luck!

Tile cleaning
We here at Orlando Carpet Cleaning get a lot of questions on how to maintain there newly cleaned tile and grout. Here are some standard procedures that should be done at least two times a month to maintain those beautiful looking new grout lines and keep that nasty build up off your tile. First things first, sweeping your tile floor should be done at least once a week along side when you are vacuuming your carpet. Make sure to get a thorough sweep before doing any type of "wet" cleaning to the floor. Get out that vacuum attachment that hasn't moved from its storage compartment on the vac cleaner itself (i kid i kid) and get alongside the baseboards and underneath the cabinets. Now that the floors have all the lose soil picked up its time to get to cleaning.
1. mix hot water and vinegar in equal parts
2. get another bucket of just HOT water ready
3. dip your mop in the water/vinegar mix and use side to side strokes
4. use up and down stokes for the grout lines
5. rinse the floor with the HOT water only bucket
6. make sure there is no standing water left, if so mop these areas up
7. apply fans for faster drying
Follow these procedures 1-2 times a month and you will keep that newly cleaned tile, cleaner, much much longer.

Is it time to get it done professionally?
Some may gauge the time to do a professional carpet cleaning is to when it "looks" dirty. This is also how some determine when to vacuum as well. This idea is ridiculous and should be thrown out the window. The sand, dirt, and oils from your shoes and feet destroy the carpet daily. Dirt is an abrasive like sandpaper. Every time you step on the carpet, you grind dirt into your carpet fibers which damages the carpet fibers causing it to wear out faster. The longer you wait to have your carpet professionally cleaned, the more irreversible damage you can do the the carpet.
Orlando Carpet Cleaning does more than just get rid of the dirt. It restores life back into the carpet, and can also protect the carpet from future damaging. Outdoor air contains pollen's fungus, bacteria, air pollution, cigarette smoke, car exhaust and hundreds of other chemicals. These containment's are transferred to your home and into your carpet, having a negative impact on your carpet and your family. In addition to getting rid of dirt, it is important to clean your carpet to get rid of the aforementioned containment's .

Cleaning Artistry
Not everyone is fit for cleaning. Orlando carpet cleaning is an art in many ways. First off, if being a carpet cleaner is not something you enjoy, or like to wake up to every morning you will not be a good artist. Pulling hoses in and out of homes 3-4 times daily would sound ridiculous to some. Moving furniture, dealing with unruly customers and dogs that may bite, seems to be an industry that most wouldn't wish on there worst enemy. Though many choose this industry to work for, they cannot be considered artists.
To be an artist at Orlando carpet cleaning you must love to transform ugly, pet stained carpets into master peaces. The site of a dirty grout line excites you, knowing you can make it look like a beautiful oasis again where the home owner can enjoy a meal with out feeling dirty. You have to want to get on your hands and knees and do what ever you can to get out the nasty gum that has been stuck in the carpet for years. Enjoying all the situations that are frowned upon by some cleaners is what makes me an artist.

Proper vacuuming
Vacuuming is an extremely lacked essential in all homes with carpet. Vacuuming should be done at least 1-3 times a week. Yes I said a week, if you are not changing your vac bag at least once a month, or your bagless canister once a week then you are neglecting your carpets tremendously. Which in turn leads to damaged fibers, dark ugly looking "traffic lanes" and years off the age of the carpet. In addition if you have stairs in your home, these should be treated with extra attention. Using the carpet tools that are attached to the machine that you might think are just for looks come in handy for the stairs specifically. Use the edge tool to get the sides, and the brush to get the "bull nose" (which is the front rounded part of the stair), this area gets the brunt of the soil from the shoes which in turn makes these areas darker. Cleaning the bull nose and sides of the stairs every time you vac will keep these areas looking like new as with the rest of your areas of your home. Make sure to take out the edge tool and get the edges of the room at least once a month.
Moving furniture to clean underneath will help with noticeable traffic patterns in the carpets. Arranging the furniture to new locations a few times a year will also help with the wear and tear on the areas which in turn will keep a fluent look to all areas of your carpet.
Getting your carpets cleaned every 6 months by a certified professional carpet cleaner will keep your carpets in like new shape. Choosing the right professional can get tricky, do your research on the company make sure your not walking into a bait n switch scam. There are plenty credible companies out there, don't be scared to ask questions.

cleaning up the industry
Carpet cleaners have a horrible reputation these days, especially in the Orlando carpet cleaning area. Whether you have been burnt buy the bait n switchers, or just an inexperienced large named company that have techs with no certifications and leave you wondering what could have been. $6.95 a room is a common scene these days, which means if you pay 6.95 per room you will get carpets that might be worse off then you started, they will charge you .25c a sqft for spots/stains and high traffic areas, which will turn almost any bill to the $200 dollar range. Be aware of your purchase, do your research on these company's and just because you think the big yellow van pulling up to your home means professionalism think again. There are plenty of good quality Orlando carpet cleaners out there, just make sure the one you are choosing is one.
